1. Context of the mission

As Product Owner you play a key role in the transformation of our company. You will contribute by translating company and departmental ambitions into a well formulated product vision for the sales tools. You will further translate this vision into product roadmap and manage the product backlog for two Agile teams, prioritizing according to value creation. You define the sprint goals for the Agile teams. You are the liaison with end-users, business owners using the product and other stakeholders of the product. You collaborate in a bigger eco-system of Agile teams

The main accountabilities & key challenges are:

· You formulate the vision for the product in order to contribute to departmental and company objectives. You use your high-level perspective to translate this vision into goals for your Agile teams . This means

o You formulate the vision in goals and control that the vision is supported with measurable benefits. The vision is ideally maintained in a product Roadmap

o You ensure the product vision and roadmap represents:

  • The voice of the business sponsors and main stakeholders
  • The voice of the end user
  • The voice of the customer

o You anticipate the needs of end users and customers. You are expert in understanding needs, you have market knowledge and you understand the customer journey in the domain you are responsible for.

o You maximize the value creation within the available capacity/budget provided for your mission/product.

o You make sure the vision is documented in an understandable view of the processes in scope.

· You Manage & prioritize the Product Backlog of your Agile teams.

o You propose a value based & prioritized backlog for every “Program Increment Planning” (PI), prepared with support from the program team and aligned with your stakeholders.

o During the PI you manage & prioritize the sprint backlogs, you provide sprint goals for your Agile team(s) and are accessible for the team(s) for understanding and processing the backlog during all the relevant Agile rituals.

o You make sure the Backlog is always accessible and understood by all stakeholders

o You evaluate the product progress at each iteration. You ensure the buy in and acceptance of the stakeholders by organizing alignment sessions and demos. You steer the product backlog based on their feedback.

· You’re the liaison between product and development. You’re performing constant stakeholder management: you’re the voice of your business stakeholders towards the Agile teams and the voice of the team towards your stakeholders.

· You collaborate in a bigger Release Train or Program structure and manage dependencies. You align and collaborate with the actors on Release Train or Program level, with other PO’s, with your Agile team or any other stakeholders to make sure the backlog and PI and Sprint planning take into account the necessary dependencies intra and cross team.

2. Localization

We normally work 2 days at the office and 3 days at home. This may vary depending on the needs.

When we work onsite, this is mostly at Brussels, but also other locations in Belgium are possible.

5. Mandatory Skills (technical/functional)

- Agile way of working : We work with the scrum method to deliver the requirements / Exp : A couple of years (2+)

- PO experience : Relevant product owner experience (Goal   setting, Prioritization, Decision making negotiation, Project management, …) / Exp : A couple of years (2+)

- Digital Experience with Digital Delivery and able to identify or align regarding digital dependencies (e.g. with the UX   experts, digital architects, etc.) / Exp : A couple of years (2+)

- Business oriented : Know your end user and your stakeholders / Exp : A couple of years (2+)

6. Nice to have Skills (technical/functional)

- Backlog & sprint management

- Experience with backlog & sprint management in a scrum/agile tool, like Jira

- Sales/commercial

- Experience in a commercial environment is   a plus, as this is the main deliverable for the digital sales tools

- Delivery lifecycle management

- Experience in Delivery lifecycle management (Analysis, Dev, Testing, Release management)
